Shopify 2.0: Empowering Clients: Deep dive
Shopify Unite 2021 released its boldest and most ambitious update last year with the launch of Shopify 2.0. This news has taken the tech world by storm and opened Pandora’s Box of creative possibilities to Shopify users.
What is Shopify Online Store 2.0?
Blue Door will explain the Shopify terminology using a simple example that almost everyone can relate to redecorating a house.
This is your Page. Next, think about the design direction that you would like to follow. The aesthetic, the paint, this is your theme. Let’s now furnish the room. As furniture, think Meta Fields.
You can easily move pieces of carefully chosen furniture wherever you want. Think about all the cool gadgets you can add to your Pinterest-worthy new room. All the electronics, smart systems and other accessories.
These are your apps.
This is pretty cool. This can be replicated for your entire home. This is not just for any home. It’s your dream home. Your dream home can also be your business and your livelihood. It’s still cool, but it takes a lot of effort. Don’t worry if you can’t do it. Blue Door does it, and Blue Door is good at it.
Okay, let’s get back to the point. Blue Door has already mentioned customization as a key feature of this update. This update offers creatives new ways to customize their websites and create themes, apps, code-free integrations, and plug-and-play options.
Blue Door’s creative team is excited to use their Shopify experience for your store’s success.
Blue Door will ensure your shop has the basics like SEO optimization, responsive web design, and seamless navigation. But, Blue Door can also help you improve your composition strategies and create a website that reflects your brand message.
This structure will allow you to build a foundation for your website and business.
Primary Components Shopify 2.0
The Shopify 2.0 Store Update can be divided into three components: Themes, Meta Fields (furniture), and Apps.
Shopify still has an easy-to-use theme editor. The existing templates will be divided across all Pages, Collections and Products.
Shopify themes were limited in their customization capabilities. There have been minor workarounds available that developers could use to customize the themes. This makes creativity very limited.
Fast forward: Themes can be more modular. The user has more control over page positioning and content. Shopify users can create more unique themes. Developers can concentrate on creating new content-specific sections. Designers can make the entire thing move with purpose.
Shopify’s Metafields allows you to add additional information boxes to your store’s pages about your products, variants and collections, customers, orders, etc. Like the furniture in a space. You can choose from a range of delivery options when you checkout.
Shopify default offers great data storage in the store admin. However, this is common across all stores. Shopify 2.0 Metafields allows you to store unique data about any object in your store. This data can be different across pages and products.
This allows Blue Door to operate faster than ever before, which, in turn, supports customer usability.
Great apps also come with great responsibilities. Shopify 2.0 offers more apps, and App developers can upload their applications directly to Shopify Online with the theme app extensions.
App blocks can be added, deleted, and configured from the theme editor directly without needing to modify any code. Uninstalls are easier because ghost code is automatically removed so that there will not be any app install conflicts or issues in the future.
